1 year together! So crazy!

Image
So a year ago yesterday, Brian asked me to be his girlfriend. We really hadn't known each other long but for atleast a month, we were constantly texting and talking and just getting to know each other better. We learned quite a bit about each other before we really started doing stuff together. A few days before we started dating, Brian met my family on our first "date" well sort of a date. It was alot of fun though. We played games and just had a ball. And Brian got along so great with my family and very easily held his own with the way my family jokes and their sarcasm. haha. But he asked me out a few days later after we had gone to the temple. We had done Baptism for the Dead. It was an amazing thing. Our singles ward bishop made sure that Brian was the one to baptize me. And we weren't even dating yet. I don't know how he knows things but he has like a 6th sense for it. haha. It was wonderful though and the spirit there was just amazing. Later that night, we w...

Wow, October...

So this past sunday, Brian and I celebrated 6 months being married. Hard to believe sometimes. Life goes by so fast. Soon, we will be celebrating a year together which is also crazy. I feel like we have been all over the place since we have been married. We have lived in 3 different homes in 3 different states...kind of well funny. But these past months have been the best of my life so far. Yes, we have had trials and hardships but we are stronger and closer because of them. We are constantly growing together and I love it. We also got to enjoy general conference this past weekend. It is definitely one of my favorites. there were so many wonderful talks. Plus it is the first time Brian and I got to watch it together. This weekend, we are taking all of our furniture up to Rexburg to our new 2 bedroom apartment. Yay! I am so grateful for all of these hand-me-downs. We actually have plenty of stuff to fully furnish our apartment. We have a kitchen table with 4 chairs, 2 large couches,...

Silly Mistakes!

I must say it has been some week and it is only Wednesday...oh the joys of life. haha. Well yesterday, I decided to make bread. So we went down to the flour mill to get some flour because we were out. When I was making bread, I couldn't figure out why the dough was acting so funny. The color was darker than usual so I figured that we grabbed red wheat instead of white wheat. When I went to put dough into pans, it was giving me fits and was super stiff. But I managed somehow. The loaves weren't very pretty though. And I used alot more flour than I normally would. Well later last night, we found out that we grabbed pancake mix instead of flour...needless to say...the bread tastes interesting. haha. Brian had misread the label. It didn't cook quite right and it is way too sweet in an odd way. We are trying to figure out how to make good use of it without wasting it. Still not sure about that one. oh the joys of cooking and having a father-in-law that farms wheat, and mills it ...

Redmesa fun!

Image
So we are now in Redmesa, Colorado. We are living with Brian's parents right now. And honestly, it's not bad at all. Brian is doing some work for his dad on the farm. I am finishing up my online schooling. I should be done in the next few weeks. Yay! So we have been doing alot of canning with Brian's friend, Dan, and his wife, Jena. It has been quite exciting. I have never really done any canning so it has been a very good learning experience. We have finished canning peaches and making alot of jam and syrup. I have lost count of how many we have. For labor day, We went and picked a bunch of pears. And the trees were super tall. We ended up just shaking branches and letting the pears fall to the ground. But they ended up alright. not too many got bruised. We made quite a bit of jam from the bruised ones though. We are still not finished with the pears though. We still plan to do a lot of pears in syrup. All the fruit we have gotten from doing this will save us quite a bit o...

On to a new chapter in life...

So these past few weeks, Brian and I have been in Vernal watching my 3 younger siblings while my parents were gone on a cruise for their 25th anniversary. They recently got back this last monday. Needless to say, I am glad they are home. We have had an exciting and confusing ride with these kids. It was definitely a good learning opportunity for us with our future children. We realized that to be a parent, a few things are good to have: good negotiation skills, listening skills, patience, endurance, and energy. It was often a battle trying to get the kids to help clean up or get ready to go somewhere. We had to bribe and bargain with them. I think that I might have gone crazy if it were not for Brian and all the help he is. He definitely kept me sane. haha. Plus, the kids have so much energy so we had to find ways to tire them out so they wouldn't stay up all hours of the night. Thank goodness, they started school while we were here. It gave us a much needed break during the day. W...

Going on 4 Months Now :D

Image
Brian and I have been married for 4 months now. It has been so great. But it has definitely been a roller-coaster. We have had to adjust and learn more about each other. It is a different lifestyle, but I wouldn't change it for anything. We have had to learn to live with each other throughout school and homework and projects. We had to learn to share a bed and that's not an easy thing for 2 tall people, but now I cannot sleep without him. We have been through a funeral and complications with family members in hospitals. It's been emotional and confusing. But we can get through anything because of our love for each other. We just want to make the other happy. We will do everything we can. Life is great. Being married is wonderful! This past week,we bought a couple goldfish...they were super cheap. But we are proud to say, they made it past a day. They are even still alive and going on 8 days. We are quite proud of ourselves. We still haven't exactly named them(for the ...

Gone Campin'!

This past weekend, Brian and I went camping near Rexburg. We were right by the river. The weather was super nice and we just got to enjoy each other. We asked others to join us, but in the end it was just Brian and I. But it was alot of fun. We didn't have any extravagant cooking stuff, just a fire. It worked out fine though and we had fun with our little adventure. We made s'mores and sat around the campfire. We played with glowsticks and fireworks. haha. We even played with a flare. It was neat. We caught a bunch of minnows with our bare hands. We brought a few home hoping that they could live in a fishbowl. But they didn't survive the day. Now we are on a fish hunt. We are looking at fish to buy to put in our fishbowl. We still aren't sure what we will get, but it will be our FHE activity. haha. Overall, we had a wonderful weekend(minus the many dead fish). It is so nice to have Brian to myself. He isn't worrying about school or any upcoming assignments. He goes ...

A (much needed) Break from School!

Image
Last week, Brian and I left after his class on Tuesday and headed towards Colorado for Independence Day. We had to stop at a junk yard in salt lake to pick up a part for Brian's auto project. We were there for over an hour. We had called previously and they said they had what he needed. When we looked at the part it was totally different. It  was  about 20 minutes to closing and we were getting bummed not finding anything. Brian decided to look through the engine pile. He found an engine that had a similar part. It ended up matching what we needed, but the engine was a completely different make and model than what we originally had. But it ended up working out pretty well. That night we stayed in Price. We were exhausted from travelling and dealing with auto parts. 4th of July morning, we got up early and head for Colorado with Brian's Mom. We luckily beat the rush of the holiday. And we made it by noon to Brian's parents. It was so nice to be there. Sadly, we missed all fi...

Life is Crazy Hectic!

So this past week, I found out that I was 6 hours short of renewing my CNA(Certified Nurse Assistant). My certification ends June 30th. And I would have to take the whole course and tests all over again without those hours. I was freaking out and just really stressed over the matter. I need my CNA to get into the nursing program. Well it will help alot atleast. So a very kind man in Vernal that owns a few care homes helped me out and said he would let me work those hours plus a few extra for safety and would sign my papers for it. I was so grateful. I found out last monday that I was short on hours. Tuesday morning, I was driving to Vernal so that I could be to work that evening. And I will tell you that it is such a long drive without my husband...not to mention very tiring. So I worked a few evening shifts to get my hours. Sadly, I didn't really get much sleep the whole time. It's funny how being married and used to sleeping with someone will do that to you. But thank goodnes...

Ladybug fun!!!

Image
haha so a few weeks ago, we found a ladybug in our apartment. Needless to say, it was pretty exciting compared to my everyday norm.  But then we had to go somewhere and I didn't wanna leave my ladybug friend. So Brian trapped it under a candy dish and we left to go do what we needed. When we got back, we discovered that the ladybug was gone. The candy dish wasn't flat on the table. A little wire thing was just barely holding it up. It was so sad and disappointing. We were having so much fun playing with it. Well last night, I was laying on my bed and I noticed something reddish on the ceiling by my light. I stood up and to my surprise, it was the ladybug!!! I was so excited. So we moved my ladybug to a flower that was given to me by my wonderful visiting teachers.  Yes, this is the excitement and entertainment of us. LOL. It is great. We have so much fun. Where we found our ladybug on our coffee table My ladybug on my flower!

I hate Mondays...

So Brian and I had a good weekend. We slept in on saturday, helped out a friend and we even got to go to the Drive In on Saturday night for free, which is always great. The movies were pretty good too. It was Snow White and the Huntsman(kinda weird and creepy) and Men in Black 3 which was a good one. I enjoyed it. there was even deep meaning to it. That doesn't happen often. But we didn't get home until 2 am on Sunday morning. We had church at 9. We were 30 or 40 minutes late, but atleast, we made an effort to get there. Brian  even got a majority of his homework done this weekend. He wanted to get ahead a bit, but that didn't really happen. Then Sunday night, we played games with some friends. The kind of games that you could really embarrass yourself. haha. It was fun. Then we got to bed around 1 am this morning. And 8 o'clock came way too soon. I thought I had pressed the snooze button on my alarm, when in fact I turned it off. Brian woke up a quarter to 9 and hurried...

Oh Crap!

So this morning 8 o'clock came so early. We got up to get Brian off to his 9 o'clock class. We didn't get to bed until like 2 am. So we were totally exhausted. In the middle of saying our morning prayers, I accidently blurted out my thoughts when I realized that Brian's 9 o'clock class got cancelled "Oh crap! You don't have class." . I felt bad because we were both in the middle of our prayers. He kind of chuckled at me. We finished praying and hopped back into bed for another hour of sleep. So it was kind of an exciting morning. haha. On top of all this I am proud to report that I completed another section of my online schooling...leaving only 4 more left until I am finished. My goal is to finish it before the end of this semester for Brian which is the end of July. So I am working at it. Married life is sure exciting especially when you are jumping on the bed, brushing your teeth while looking like an ostrich(according to my husband). haha. Love it!

Woohoo! 2 months

So I just started a new blog for our little family. I will keep it updated with our life events. :) Been married for 2 months now come Thursday, June 7th. We are pretty excited, happy and still loving life.
