The 'thing' makes Motherhood (parenthood) completely worth it

This is not my typical posting but it has been on my mind lately. I love being a mother, but some days it is overly exhausting and completely frustrating. Lately my one year old has found it fun to throw everything especially food resulting in large messes. He also likes to throw his pacifier in sacrament meeting. True, he usually only does this when he is tired and cranky but we always have sacrament when he is tired and cranky. I LOVE my child with all my heart but at times, he truly frustrates me. I want to be patient with him and I do indeed try my hardest, but at times I forget (like any normal human being). Today, like most days, I was reminded of the reason why I wanted to be a mother in the first part. It is so rewarding to see your child grow, develop, and take hold of new concepts. I absolutely love having a front row seat to this wonderful creation I call my son. But today, I was doing the dishes while my son was in his high chair. I look over at him and he gave me the big...

Finished!

I am proud to announce that I have officially made it half way through the nursing program. I am done with my finals and I am going to enjoy my well-deserved  week break. It is time to catch up on sleep, family fun, and enjoying my hubby. This past semester has been so busy and full of interesting stuff. This last week, Rexburg got a crazy flash flood. Luckily, it did not affect us, but it did get many others. That is such a rough thing and on top of that, it is finals week. And no, they were not cancelled even though the school got some flooding as well. It was amazing to me how quickly it got cleaned up from the school and streets at least. I know many apartment complexes and homes are still suffering from it. So many people came together to help one another. It was amazing and needed. It may not be fun, but in the end, everyone gained blessings. Many were serving others and many were being served. Such an amazing phenomenon. So aside from the flash flood, I got to see some p...

It's been FOR-EV-ER since I posted

So life has been busy, crazy, hectic, fun and exciting. I am in the nursing program at BYU-Idaho and it is hard core and lots of work. But I really do enjoy it. I believe that it is what I am meant to do secondary to being a mother of course. Brexdon is 10 months old now and his birthday is practically around the corner. It is so hard to believe how fast he is growing up. So here is the update on the last 7 months of our life. haha. Brian graduated from BYU-Idaho in April (he will walk in July because he was in Boise during graduation). Brexdon started crawling a few months ago and will probably start walking on his own any day now. That is a scary thought. I survived my first semester of nursing and am half way through my second semester (which I will hopefully also survive). I got released from my substitute relief society teacher calling and got called into the nursery. Fun and new. Brexdon and I went to nursery for the first time this past Sunday and he absolutely loved it. He ...

Long waited for Update

Image
Well alot has happened since I last blogged. On Friday, July 26th our sweet son Brexdon McCoy was born. We went in for a doctors appointment that morning. Everything appeared to be progressing smoothly. He was head down and ready to enter the world. So our doctor sent us to the hospital to have him. Our doctor arrived a few hours later to break my water but found that Brexdon had completely flipped to that he was no longer head down. They then tried to flip him around but he would not budge. He sure is stubborn like his parents. So they prepared me for an emergency C section. It was all kind of a daze for me that day. Luckily, Brian did well to be by my side and help care for our new bundle. Brexdon was born at 2:44 pm weighing 7 lbs 2 oz and was 20 1/4 inches long. Now Brexdon is 3 1/2 months old and the greatest joy of our lives. He has been growing and developing so well. He smiles all and time and is starting to grab things. He is definitely a Momma's boy. He doesn't let me...

Any day now...

My goodness I have been terrible at blogging. This past semester has been so busy and crazy. But it is over now. Yay. Now we are waiting for our little guy to get here. I am not due until August 10th...but it seems that he plans to make an early appearance so stay tuned for pics of our son. I cannot wait to see what he looks like. It is all so exciting. As soon as I finished my finals for the semester, I started nesting like crazy. The baby's room is all ready with the crib set up, clothes washed, and put away. Now it is just a waiting game. Hopefully he doesn't make me wait too long. We were planning on going to Vernal this upcoming weekend for my little brother, Devin's, mission farewell but my doctor didn't want us going further than 15 minutes out of town so that became out of the question with it being 7 hours away. But maybe it will be worth it if my little guy comes by this weekend. We are both so excited and a bit nervous. It is a huge change, but luckily we are...

1 YEAR!!!

Image
I cannot believe that it has already been a year since Brian and I got married. It has been a wonderful year and we are happier than ever. That will definitely continue. Our lives are everchanging. We are going to school and expecting a little boy into our family in August. We are sure excited. This past year has gone by extremely fast, but we are grateful for it all. We have some pretty great memories and we just keep making more. It is wonderful.

School...and more school

So all is going fairly well. We have been extremely busy with school. We are both taking 17 credits so it is somewhat crazy. We both really quite like our classes though. They are mostly fun and we have good teachers. HUGE PLUS. But all is well. And our little baby is growing well. I am 14 weeks now. Finally done  with the first trimester and on to the next. Yay.
