Guess what...I'm not perfect

As I lay here with terrible insomnia (hasn't happened this severely in a while), I decided to write my thoughts and frustrations out. As a parent, I dearly love my children. They are the light of my world. They are not easy nor do we have a picture perfect life, but I'm trying my best with what I have to work with. I guess I want to express that there is no ONE right way to parent. And I can go one step further and say I have to "parent" each one of my children in a different manner because they each respond differently. I'm not perfect at anything...especially parenting.

No one except the Lord and my husband (usually) understands the trials I go through on a daily basis. Therefore, no one has the right (except the Lord) to judge how I'm doing something or even why. Like I said I am doing my best. Just because I do something you may not agree with doesn't mean it's wrong. You have NO right to tell me or anyone else that what I am doing isn't okay. You don't UNDERSTAND my situation. So don't be jumping to conclusions because you think you know how to parent better than me when I've possibly been at it a bit longer than you. I have no intention of judging your parenting style because I don't understand your situation and maybe you're in the same boat and doing the best you can with what you know and have.

To all the mamas out there feeling insecure or frustrated, keep going and do what you can. Because honestly, the best way to parent your child is to make sure they know you LOVE them. That's what truly matters. All the opinions and judgements of others don't. Brush them off and keep doing the best you can. Parenting is a trial and error way of life. You won't know something does or does not work without giving it a shot. All of our children our children are different and have different needs. We have to figure out want those are and be willing to adapt to give our children the best chance out in the world.

Hope this speaks to more than just my heart. Just know that parenting is hard but we can all keep trying because we love our little people with all our hearts even though they can be quite frustrating at times.

  1. I know you are a FANTASTIC parent and you do a wonderful job with all of my sweet Grandchildren. The Lord is with you and will always help you in the raising of those sweet spirits because he knows you can give them the best and what they need. NO ONE has the right to tell you other wise. You Heather are a beautiful daughter of God and your earthly parents and we love you with all our hearts.
