The Holiday Season is Upon Us
You know I don't think I ever realized how much I love this Christmas season until this year. The music brings me joy. The lights and decor bring me joy. Seeing my children excited brings me joy. Gathering with family and friends brings me great joy. Thinking about the birth of Jesus Christ brings me joy.
Of course this season can be full of stress and being oh so busy...but we can decide how to handle it. I've come to realize its much more enjoyable if I work on gifts months ahead of time. This year I actually kept a list of gifts I have bought for people so they didn't get forgotten (totally guilty of that in past years). And we can choose how busy we want to be. We don't have to go to every holiday function we're invited to. We are allowed to say No...we can also combine events in a way. Invite friends to a holiday function and spend time with them while enjoying a tradition.
In the past few years, I've also realized that it's much more enjoyable to give experiences rather than toys (and much less house clutter). My kids have been able to enjoy swimming, gymnastics, martial arts, and other things. It's been so fun to watch them learn and grow.
So maybe this season, think about what is truly important to you and cut the rest out...you don't need the stress. Enjoy the beautiful music, lights, family, friends, and the true reason for the season: the birth of Christ.
I love you all and Merry Christmas! ❤
